The GTU Wireless Network

Beginning in the Fall of 2008 the GTU will be providing wireless internet access in several areas of our buildings.

Who may access this network?

You may connect to this wireless network if you are affiliated with the Graduate Theological Union. The wireless network is available to students, faculty & staff of GTU member schools, as well as those with a valid GTU Library borrower's card.

How do I connect?

When you first connect it is necessary to use an authorized email address to create an account to use our new network. Authorized addresses are determined as follows:

All affiliates with email addresses ending in:

        gtu.edu

        ses.gtu.edu

        op.dspt.edu

        ses.psr.edu

must use that email address to register.

All others must use the email address you provided to the Library when you registered for Library privileges. For new & renewing Library card holders it will take from 3 to 7 days for your account to be authorized so you can connect to the network. The act of logging in to the GTU wireless network using the email address registered with the Library constitutes permission for the Library to make your email address available for this purpose. No other email address will allow you to create an account to log in the GTU wireless

Please see the Wireless Login Instructions if you need further assistance in connecting to the system.

Where is the network available?

         Library Building

When the network is first available it will cover the following areas:

First Floor – areas covered will include the center atrium area tables & desks, as well as

the desks along the east side of the floor & the north side of the floor (where the visiting

                       scholar study carrels are located).

Second Floor – all desk areas should have wireless coverage except for the tables along

the south side of the floor behind the the restrooms & elevator.

as time goes on our aim is to increase the reach of this network to cover most, if not all, areas

with desks & tables in the Library.

            LeConte Building

The new GTU Student Lounge, the Hedco Room, & the lounge area on the second floor, as well as

            some of the office areas.

            Virginia Street Student Housing

Wireless will be provided throughout the building.
